Here’s a review of everything Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures announced at D23 2022

The first day of D23 is about to come to an end and while many fans are already speculating about what Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios could announce on Saturday, for now the focus is on the presentations of Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures.

Among these Disney divisions, several announcements were made for the future of the company’s productions, ranging from bets for the cinema such as a sequel to Intensely to various live-action and animated projects for Disney Plus.

In that sense, as it is easy to get lost among so many ads, here is a review of the most relevant.

  • Inside Out 2 (Movie)

Sequel to the 2015 film with a new director and emotional cast. It will arrive in 2024 at the cinema.

Disney released the first look at the new Pixar film that will star Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie.

What’s new from the co-director of Coconut It will be about a boy who accidentally travels to space.

  • Win or Lose (Disney+ series)

Starring Will Forte, this program will follow the adventures of a baseball team.

A new trailer for the sequel was released Nice to meet you which will premiere in November on Disney plus.

  • Abracadabra 2 (Movie)

Disney revealed another sneak peek and a poster for the return of the Sanderson Sisters.

  • Peter Pan and Wendy (Movie)

This production that will premiere on Disney Plus will be directed by David Lowery. Its cast will feature Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, Jude Law as Captain Hook, and Ever Anderson as Wendy. Disney did not set a specific date for its premiere and only indicated that it will be in 2023, but a poster was also debuted.

  • Mufasa: The Lion King (Movie)

The studio laid the groundwork for the Barry Jenkins-directed film that will be a prequel to the remake of The Lion King of 2019 and will tell how the life of Simba’s father was.

The Mickey Mouse company also took the opportunity to launch the first trailer for the live-action remake of The little Mermaid.

  • Snow White (Movie)

A 2024 release date has been set for the live-action Snow White remake that will star Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.

  • Haunted Mansion (Movie)

Although the company did not share with the whole world the first look at its film based on the attraction of the Disney parks, it was confirmed (via dead line) that Haunted Mansion will feature cameos from Winona Ryder, Hasan Minhaj and Dan Levy, as well as include Rosario Dawson, Danny DeVito, LaKeith Stanfield and Jamie Lee Curtis as part of its cast.

Now in the animation area, Disney presented the first image of Iwájú, its new series for Disney Plus set in the Nigeria of the future. This program will debut in 2023.

In November the anthology series will be released, which in 6 episodes will tell stories framed in the world of Zootopia.

With a new image, Disney confirmed that its new animated film with a cast headed by Jake Gyllenhaal will debut in theaters in November.
