(EFE) — The inspiration of goalkeeper Alexander Nubel and the discipline of Monaco handcuffed Paris Saint Germain, which left the first points of the season in Ligue 1 and avoided further damage, a defeat, thanks to a penalty converted by Neymar.
Christophe Galtier’s team continues to dominate in the competition, although now, without full, thanks to the difference in points with respect to Marseille and Lens, who also have ten points. It is the advantage that gives the champion having scored eighteen goals in four games. Six of them from Neymar who did not have to discuss with Kylian Mbappe the shot from eleven meters. He provoked the action, he executed it.
That was how Paris Saint Germain found some relief in a duel that was entrenched from the beginning against a rival that was languishing due to its poor start to the course.
Calm due to the incontestable authority that he has shown at the start of the course, the French champion faced the commitment without the overwhelming character of other times. When he wanted to speed up, Christophe Galtier’s team was already immersed in the rhythm that Monaco had adopted, and the results have put him in doubt.
Philippe Clement’s eleven kept the type in order while keeping his attack led by Wissam Ben Yedder and also Kevin Volland on alert.
The Monaco had managed to get out of the first quarter of an hour and began to stretch at its ends. He seriously warned Paris Saint Germain when he took an advantage on the scoreboard in an action caused by a stolen ball by Mohamed Camara to Leo Messi that found Volland as a destination. The forward went well with the wall with the Russian Aleksandr Golovin and faced Gianluigi Donnarumma, whom he overcame to take the ball into the net.
Volland was injured after the goal. He had to leave the field replaced by Maghnes Akliouche.
Monaco won in confidence, although they suffered in the final stretch when Paris Saint Germain accelerated. He was able to equalize before intermission with a shot to the right post by Messi whose rejection was picked up by Kylian Mbappe, only before the goal, which ended up on the left post.
Alexander Nubel appeared to sustain the situation for Monaco. The keeper prevented Mbappe’s goal early in the second half after Ben Yedder pardoned the second after a poor start from Donnarumma.
He responded to another with Neymar as the protagonist who later caused the penalty that gave the equalizer that relieved Galtier’s team. The Brazilian fell in an entrance of the Chilean Guillermo Maripan that the referee did not see. The VAR warned him, he checked it and Neymar did not fail.
Closer to the goal, Paris Saint Germain cornered Monaco, which showed signs of weakness and was at the mercy of the Parisian giant. Achraf Hakimi was able to score, a quarter of an hour from the end, with a long shot that he hit the post.
Then Nubel appeared to frustrate a shot by Mbappe, alone, after receiving a pass from Nuno Mendes.
Parsís Saint Germain faced the final stretch without Messi on the field. In 1987 Galtier took him off and gave Pablo Sarabia entry. He also retired Marquinhos who gave way to Nordi Mukiele.
It was a matter of survival for Monaco who desperately achieved their goal against an imprecise opponent who ended up mired in frustration despite maintaining the lead.
