Stephen King’s Fairy Tale and Johnny Deep Trial become films

Paul Greengrass director of The Bourne Supremacy, Captain Phillips And Jason Bourne was recruited to write and direct the film adaptation of the recent bestseller fairy tale by Stephen King published in Italy by Sperling & Kupfer. King, who is a big fan of Greengrass films, has granted the rights to the film adaptation for the symbolic price of one dollar, an opportunity the writer has been giving to some lucky ones since the 1970s.

The epic story follows a 17-year-old boy who inherits the keys to a terrifying world where good and evil are at war. The stakes could not be higher, for that world and ours, as it travels into the mythical roots of human narrative. “

King of the new collaboration said: “It goes without saying that I am a fan of Paul Greengrass and I think he is a wonderful choice for this film.” Director Greengrass added: “Fairy Tale is a brilliant work. A classic adventure story and also a disturbing contemporary allegory ”.

The official plot of the novel: A boy, his dog, the descent into a magical and dark world. Welcome to the dark side of once upon a time. Charlie Reade is a seventeen-year-old like many others, discreet at school, excellent at baseball and football. But he carries a burden too great for his age. His mother died in a car accident when he was seven and his father succumbed to alcohol from the pain. Since then, Charlie has had to learn to look after both of them. One day, he runs into an old man – Howard Bowditch – who lives in seclusion with his dog Radar in a large house on top of a hill, known in the neighborhood as “Psycho’s House.” There is a shed in the backyard, always locked, from which strange noises are coming. Charlie rescues Howard after an injury, gaining his trust, and takes care of Radar, who becomes his best friend. Until, on the verge of death, Mr. Bowditch leaves Charlie a cassette where he has recorded an incredible story, a secret he has kept hidden all his life: inside the back shed is the gateway to another world. A parallel reality where Good and Evil fight a battle on which the fate of our own world depends. An epic fight that will end up involving Charlie and Radar, in spite of themselves, in the role of heroes. From the genius of Stephen King, an extraordinary and chilling new adventure, a breathtaking ride into the boundless territory of his imagination.
