Day 15 of the 2022 Opening tournament will have one of the most anticipated confrontations of the semester on its billboard. The Eagles of America will look to extend their unbeaten streak against the Chivas of the Guadalajara Sports Club. In that sense, before facing the National Classic, Alexis Vega spoke in the face of the meeting and provided the arguments for which he was glad that his staunch rival rescued an agonizing draw against Santos mid week.

During an appearance before the media at his concentration hotel in Mexico City, the number 10 of the rojiblanco team spoke about the functioning of his team and the rival. In one of his most outstanding statements, he highlighted the pleasure that the agonizing draw of the Águilas against Club Santos Laguna caused him, although he considered it a incentive to face the National Classic.

“We are just around the corner from a Clásico. We have a rematch and what better way to do it than against America. Me when I was watching the Santos match against America I didn’t want America to lose, I wanted America to tie or win for us, right or wrong with that good game we are having, to be able take away the undefeated that so much has been given to them. He is willing to be a good catch, ”he assured.

In a duel corresponding to the pending match of day 5, the Eagles of America received a visit from Club Santos Laguna. Just at minute eight, Leonardo Suárez opened the match with a cross shot, although Henry Martin equalized the actions a minute later. The tie did not last long, as Suárez increased the lead in the 17th minute and the match remained that way for much of the match.

With the start of the second half, Harold Preciado increased the lead for the Laguneros to three goals and America’s streak of games without defeat was put in serious danger. Hugo Rodíguez scored a goal against in the 88th minute that brought the locals closer and when it seemed that the match was practically over, in the 90+6 minute, Federico Viñas rose to tie the game.

Thanks to the score of three goals per side, the americanistas were able to extend their streak to 10 games without losing. In that sense, the match of the National Classic against the Chivas of the Guadalajara Sports Club will have a special ingredient because, in addition to extending their streak and establishing themselves as leaders of the tournament, if they win, they would put at risk the intention of the people from Guadalajara to stay in the playoff zone.

Another of Alexis Vega’s arguments was about the greatness of his team. Despite the fact that Fernando Ortiz made it clear that América has established itself as the most successful team in Mexican soccer and, therefore, the greatest, the footballer assured that “on this side we feel that we are the greatest in Mexico and we feel this way because our fans support us. For us, we are the largest in Mexico.”

One of the Herd’s obligations for the National Classic is to obtain victory. In addition to specifying the sum of points that would bring them closer to the direct classification zone in the Azteca Stadium, they also they would end a streak of almost two years without being able to break the staunch rival.

The last time the Guadalajarans were victorious was in the return of the Guard1anes 2021 tournament quarterfinals, when they beat America two to one with a couple of goals from the whip Calderon.
